The Greatest Salesman in the World

I’m not very good at sales.  I grew up on a farm in a small rural town, Missouri.  I didn’t, and I never, thought sales was my skill set.  However, somehow, I ended up in sales.  I feel I have failed more times than I can count.  In truth, I’ve asked myself many times, “Why do I do what I do?” You may be able to relate to me.

I can, however, go out and work the hours.  I told my very first manager in sales that I’d be their hardest worker.  I grew up on a farm so I knew I had it in me.  I can overcome hard obstacles. I can persist until I see success.  Each challenge I face is one more step toward a positive outcome.  The concept of work didn’t scare me.  I will try and try and try again, even if I suck at it, I will develop skills slowly until I can figure it all out. I heard that is all you need in sales.

I was wrong.  You also need other intangibles and you need to live a certain way to really start to harvest abundantly.  Hard work will get you so far, you also need to add a couple things to your hard work.  What I read in The Greatest Salesman in the World were those things.  I learned that I didn’t just need a really good sales pitch and close either.

I learned that no one can tell you NO if the people you sell to can feel your love and compassion and understanding.

I learned that self-pity is the most tragic feeling you could have and is the biggest depressant for success.

I learned that action will speak louder than anything.

I learned that distractions can kill your momentum.

I learned that a routine and repetition of learning is vital to your day to ensure a high learning projectile.

This book contains an unprecedented amount of principles and teachings on how to not only be successful in sales but in life. The knowledge and wisdom found in the scrolls will create a true north. Wealth, happiness, and abundance will begin to be unleashed in all areas of life IF PUT INTO ACTION. Purposeful action is the only way anything good is found. The first person I wanted to read it after I finished the last word was my wife and my 9 year old. He has read the first 2 chapters and will be finishing it too!  It’s easy and quick enough for anyone to read.

Book Summary

Spotlighted Scroll

Scroll 1: “I will form good habits and become their slave”

We are slaves to our habits because they control how we act, and thus determine whether we succeed or fail. To change your habits, you MUST replace bad habits with good ones. Each of these scrolls contains a good habit that you can use to drive out the bad ones. The first habit to cultivate is to read the scrolls daily:

  • Read the words 3x a day: in silence when you wake up in the morning and after lunch, then aloud just before you sleep.
  • Start with Scroll I, read it daily for 30 days then do the same for the next scroll until you have completed all 10 scrolls. No matter how simple or familiar the words appear to be, don’t gloss over them and never skip even 1 day of reading.

As you repeat the words daily, they will become firmly imprinted in both your conscious and subconscious minds, and you find yourself feeling more confident, enthusiastic and energized. These positive outcomes will make it increasingly easy to continue your  other daily actions.

Your pitch, your close, your goals, your ambitions, your objectives can be this 30 day script.  TRY THIS FOR 30 DAYS, I DARE YOU!

Failure sleeps.  Success wakes up early today and doesn’t think about yesterday or tomorrow.

THANK YOU!
